COVID - 19 UPDATE
In April, I made the exceedingly difficult decision to begin the process of permanently closing Joyful Spirit Massage & Wellness. I will miss you!
What does this mean…?
Unfortunately, this could very well be goodbye unless you have a gift card or gift certificate.
I seek to honor any outstanding gift cards and gift certificates by offering massage appointments on select Saturdays for a limited time. Due to limited availability, I can only accept and schedule appointment requests from clients with gift cards or gift certificates at this time.
Please be advised…
By its very nature, massage and bodywork requires skin-to-skin contact to receive it’s many benefits such as reduced muscle tension, improved circulation, stimulation of the lymphatic system, reduction of stress hormones, relaxation, increased joint mobility and flexibility, and more. However, you should also be aware that close contact with people increases the risk of infection from COVID-19 and other infectious diseases and illnesses. For this reason, I am relying on you to take personal responsibility for your own health by becoming informed of the benefits and risks before consenting to receive massage and bodywork. Information regarding risk factors and recommendations can be found at https://www.health.state.mn.us/diseases/coronavirus/basics.html.
Scheduling an appointment…
Online scheduling will be available for your convenience on Monday, June 8. When you are asked, “What is the reason for your visit?” during the scheduling process, please enter your gift card number which can be found on the back of your plastic gift card, in your email confirmation of your electronic gift certificate, or on the bottom of your paper gift certificate.
What about a face mask…?
I will not be wearing a face mask and will not require you to wear one. I strongly rely on your facial expressions as an integral form of communication before, during, and after your massage session. I understand all the recommendations and do not want to jeopardize your health or well-being. Therefore, you are welcome to wear a mask if you would like. Also, if you are at risk or uncomfortable to receive massage at this time please contact me via email, firstname.lastname@example.org, or voicemail, 952-777-0522.
Sanitation & Cleanliness…
I will be allowing extra time between appointments for proper sanitation of all equipment and high touch surfaces. I will be opening windows between clients to improve ventilation and maximize fresh air in the massage room. I will have hand sanitizer in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
Of course, there’s paperwork…
You will be asked to complete an online health assessment prior to your scheduled appointment to update your health information and to ask you specifically about your potential exposure to COVID-19. I will ask you to sign an informed consent form that states, “I understand that close contact with people increases the risk of infection from COVID-19 and other infectious diseases and illnesses. By signing this form, I acknowledge that I am aware of the risks involved and give consent to receive massage and bodywork from this practitioner.”
When you arrive for your appointment…
When you arrive at the office, you are welcome to come into the building, wait in the waiting area, and use the restroom as usual. There is plenty of room to allow for social distancing without having to wait in your vehicle.
Self-responsibility and mutual respect…
I ask that you inform me if you have developed any symptoms of illness since you completed the online health assessment and I promise to inform you if I have developed any symptoms of illness. If you feel ill on the day of your session, there is no penalty for canceling your appointment. Massage is not advised if you or I have any symptoms of illness.
A brighter future…
Please watch for exciting things happening mid to late summer at 218 E Wilson Street!
Thank you for your business and loyal support.
